I own a 6.2 L Diesel van G30 equipped with a TH400. I never use the van for towing and the transmission gives very poor mileage. I purchased a 4L60 trans. (from an Astro van). Now I want to build this trans. into my van. Can anyone guide me in doing this?

Rgds.

Lock up can be applyed hydraulicaly working with the lock up valve and custom lock up valve spring. No electronics needed.

What size engine was in the doner van? The G30, 6.2 will need a heavier trans than the Astro. The upgrade of hard parts may be cost prohibitive. The 6.2 700's had lots of heavy parts compared to gas models. I would not start with a core earlier than '86 - '87. The 4L60 with aux valve body may be a better choice for the 6.2. The current lot of upgrade components available reads like a book. I spent hundreds just rebuilding mine and it was from a 6.2 diesel doner truck.

The valve body and controls are significantly different in the diesel trans vs a gas unit. Mike?
