Not sure of the code but heard of similar problems. Do you plug it in a night? Use an oil pan heater or trans heater? Does the truck run any different when cold or warm?

Yeah, What's interestng is since we've had the ice we've been puting around but I did plug it in the night before. Always has started good w/o plug in. Started next morning and cel came on during warmup but was off on the drive home after work. Truck has stock tune also. Fluke?

I've seen this problem before else where on the site. Can't remember exactly what caused this. P0700 is the code that the TCM sends to the ECM to turn on the MIL. That means other codes are stored within the TCM. Do a search on the site to see if you can turn anything up. Otherwise you are going to have to find someone with a quality scanner to see if you can retrive the codes from the TCM.
Again I've seen this type of problem before and I don't think it's a problem however don't quote me on it. You can always PM any of the site guru's and see if they can help you out.

He is right there are codes stored in the tcm. I just had the same problem on a customers truck it was caused by the ignition switch dropping out voltage when cold. I also had gauges and lights inop.

If the temps weren't sub zero that night, it could be because you plugged in. Happened to me twice now, once I didn't beleive it to be true, second time warmed way up overnight.

If you read the allison supplement that came with your owners manual it tells you that at certain temps it disables certain gears, so maybe you got on it too hard while it was in to low of a gear and it set the P0700 code. Just throwing ideas out there. :confuzeld

I can't see it being a cold-related problem with the tranny. I have started my truck in -40, and have had no tranny problems. I am thinking it is either a fluke, or some sort of intermittent electrical snafu.
