Has anyone had problems with their tailgate not openeing? Seems like the red a green plastic clips inside the handle break off easy. Once they do so the rod does not unlatch the locks. Anyone know if there is a TSB for this problem?

The only time I have had a problem is when the wheels are on uneven ground, one high one low .... This must cause a slight twist in the body causing one side of catch to bind ever so slightly .... Handle is then difficult to raise to unlatch ....

Try lubing the areas of friction with a little synthetic grease.

I almost did !!!!! At the last minute my dealer stole or begged off an allocation and I spec'd mine out in 01 and ordered .... I was lurking the Dodge dealerships and getting prices while they we're yanking my chain ..... You boys have no idea what it was like the first year trying to get a truck ....
People we're paying OVER MSRP to get one ..... I paid invoice .....

I sure remember ! ! Some out here were paying >MSRP in late 01 when I ordered my 02 thru a discount/wholeseller (DaveSmithAuto). I felt it was against my constitution to pay askin'. In fact some of the local dealsers laughted at me. Course I had to wait for my build ~ next to the last 02 produced (>6mos). Brought it back home and drove it thru the various dealers lots honking the horn w/the bright dealer placards still in the license frames
Yaas indeedy ~ tuff times dem was.

I had a similar problem. I adjusted the clevis pins on the side of the bed out slightly, now it never is hard to open. You will have to remove the taillights to hold the nut on the back of the clevis pin.
