Swapping radiator and intercooler to Duramax, is it possible?

Hey y'all,

I'm going to swap out the radiator fan for a Duramax one, and thought, why not swap out the radiator and intercooler as well?

Any thoughts on this? Has this been done before?

I'm gonna have a look at the fittings, but it's a 6.6L 2002 Duramax.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I've browsed through a bunch of threads and no mention of an attempt to install a duramax radiator.
You would have to measure the duramax radiator vs the 6.5L radiator supports, check for clearance issues, etc.
I don't think you would have the room.

If the rad does fit you will also have to figure out how to fit the intercooler and how to plumb it into the system since these trucks never came with a intercooler.

Thanks for the replies fellas!

It does seem like this never has been done before, so I'll doubt I'll be the first one to pull it off.

I will take my disassembled 6.5 radiator with me to the junk yard and check if the plumbing and size would be somewhat similar - I'll report back here after!

Honestly I'm more interested in the intercooler aspect of this thread

They sold off the wrecked Duramax before I had a chance to see it, but I'm scouting for new ones. I want to try it out as well, so I'll report here when I get to it!
