I did read the big writeup in the DIY section yet am still left with many questions.
Okay, I'm a n00b to this forum (but not to many others like ls1tech, dfwstangs.net, etc) tho' I've been reading for a long time on here. I'll be ordering my D/A 2500HD GMC here early May if all goes well. So I have been thinking about a mild lift on the HD and have quite a few questions...
First...some info on what I'm looking for: I am going to get a set of Weld Stonecrusher wheels (18x8 or 18x10, 4.625" BS). Now if I run the 8" wheels I'd run a 285/60R18 (~33") but I'd like to run the 10" rims so I'd be with a 325/60R18 (~33") or a 325/65R18 (~35").
I'm not going to do any hardcore offroading by anymeans, I need to get a mild lift as I want to ideally run the 18x10s w/ 325/65R18 tires.
I believe that I will rub on the front and I'm prepared to trim the bumper and such also.
Now...how important is the increase in trackwidth on the front?
What about the 1 vs 2 piece subframe?
To clear those larger 325/65's will a 4" lift clear them?
If a 4" won't clear them, would I be stuck with a 6" setup? Also, what determines the front lift aside from the subframes....the T-Bar turning?
