Have a 02 crew shortbed 4wd. Bought a superchip programmer. Love the power on high(approx 80+ hp). But crusin at 70 to 80 mph, a full pedal downshift from 5 to 4 will apparently slip a bit and set a tranny code and shut down 5th gear. I erase the codes and then all is well. But I wonder if this is "normal" or if my ally is perhaps a bit weak up there. Or if I should just keep my foot away from the floor at that speed. All other shifts are quick and tight, even hammering wide open from a start. Any comments appreciated. Del

You limped the trans. You need some new clutches, TC and shift kit and you'll be able to play with that superchips programmer. If you can't afford the trans upgrade load a lower program into the truck and enjoy. The more you limp the trans the easier it will do it again.

You can do a search the subject and you'll get more information than you know what to do with. Good luck.
