Guys,

The Southeastern TDR has asked and Joe Webb has accepted an offer to have a Open house, dyno day and drag race the weekend of January 17th and 18th 2004 at his Sun Coast transission facility in Ft. Walton Beach Fl.

My last conversation with Joe revealed he was catering in BBQ and stuff for Saturday, had worked out for early Sunday morning drags at the local 1/8 mile track near his shop. Early AM so those that could, might race before departing for home.

I am not sure how many are coming as this will be a "all brand event" but those wanting to dyno should chime in and get on the list.

See you all there...

Love to. I like seeing how things are done in person. Too much of a trip for me though.

Can anyone tell me what the schedule is for the 18th? I will be working on the 17th,
but would like to be able to meet some of you guys that will be attending. Who is going to be there on Sunday?

I need the schedule of Sunday's events, the address, and a way to identify whoever is going to be there.
Maybe we could all wear pink hats with feathers in them or something...j/k.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks,

Kevin

The word is that the racing on Sunday will be at the Emerald Coast Dragway in Holt, FL and is starting about Noon. It is an IHRA 1/8 mile track. Their site is www.emeraldcoastdragway.com for more information.

Looks like the track will be open for test and tune 1 to 5 PM and it must be 55 degrees or warmer for us to run.

Track Location:
On I-10 take the Holt exit, (Exit 45), go North approximately 1 mile to Highway 90. Turn west and go approximately 2.8 miles to the Okaloosa / Santa Rosa County line. Turn left onto Garner Landing Road. The track will be one mile down on the left.

I am running my truck at the drags for sure.
I have highlighted some of the more important rules of the IHRA if you are planning to race.

Clothing - No sleeveless shirts and/or shorts! All participants must have at least a full t-shirt and long pants to race. Sweatpants are acceptable, but please, no nylon warm-up type pants! These rules are for fire safety.

Helmets are required for all cars running 13.99 and quicker 1/4 mile, 8.59 and quicker 1/8 mile, meeting Snell 90 or newer ratings. See Official 2003 IHRA Rulebook for exact requirements of your class. A helmet is required for all convertibles regardless of ET. DOT rated helmets will not be accepted.
<DIV>Passengers are allowed only in vehicles running 14.00 or slower 1/4 mile, 8.60 or slower 1/8 mile. Passengers are held to the same safety standards as the driver. </DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>All nitrous oxide bottles must be mounted, strapped with a minimum DOT-1,800 lb rating. Nitrous bottles located in the drivers compartment must be equipped with a relief valve and vented outside the drivers compartment. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Seat belts are required in all entries. Cars running 11.49 and quicker are required seat belts meeting SFI 16.1. All entries requiring SFI.1 restraint systems must be updated at 2 year intervals. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Drive Shaft Loop: Slick tired entries must have a drive shaft loop installed. See the Official 2003 IHRA Rulebooks General Regulations (pg. 108) for specifications. </DIV>
<DIV>*DOT slicks are not exempt from this rule. Example, but not limited to, Mickey Thompson ET Street Tire. </DIV>
<DIV>*Drag radials are exempt from the drive shaft loop rule. Example, but not limited to, BFGoodrich Comp T/A Drag Radial </DIV>

Looks like it may rain!!!!
It's showing a 60% chance for Sunday so the racing may be kiboshed but I hope it clears out.

Hey guys,

I am heading out tomorrow. The dyno will be under cover so if it rains there will not be a problem for that. If Sunday goes as planned, dieel trucks will race only between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm then the gates open to the public.

See you all there.

I just checked the forecast, things are looking up for Sunday. On the other hand the organizers of this event (SETDR) seem to have dropped the ball.

I read on the Suncoast thread at SETDR that the racing was off because it was too cold and that they never got an answer from the track. IF the weather holds it will be plenty warm so hopefully they will take off the pink panties and do some racing.

I think Saturday will be great but piss poor planning really ruins events in a hurry.
