Search of the forum turned up nothing. These were highly recommended by the local Off-Road Shop to help resolve the road vibration on my 2007 Silverado Classic 4WD CCSB LBZ. Anyone ever hear of these. Website is under the first word, Sulastic.

How about towing heavy with the Sulastics and no air bags at stock ride height, are the shackles holding up?

#66 ·
Well that's where getting the right shackle kit for your truck comes in. 2500HD then order the 2500HD shackle and all is fine. If you are towing a large trailer and alot of weight air bags are highly recommend.

Which bilstein shock works best with the sulastic springs? I know its in the 5100 series but which one is recommended? Is it the same one that would otherwise be used without the sulastic springs? Is there any improvement, or is there any point in changing to bilsteins from stock shocks in the rear with the sulastic springs? Nick what you think?

Thanks .. huthuthut

I have a ton of part numbers and spec's that has taken me a very long time to obtain. So I have a thread floating out there that was a sticky that had a ton of info on it but you need to read threw it. Other wise if you are looking for shocks best thing is to just call in if you are looking to place a order because I don't give out part numbers over the board anymore. Sorry.

Two weeks ago NorCal Trucks installed the Sulastic Shackels. I wanted to drive it a few hundred miles and before the assessment.

To clarify, the truck is still a truck. I can't say it's a significant improvement but enough to reduce that gut wrenching harshness from the rear and the rapid bunny humps. Much softer, enough to take the edge off which is what I was looking for especially when the gas tank was empty. Wish I would of done this long time ago and well worth the investment.

I just got the Sulastic Shackels put on yesterday. And let me tell you what huge difference to the now what stiff bounce in the rear. Soon as I drove away from Nick's shop and went over the speed bumps. WOW. I actually feel like I am driving a car. No more going over bumps, dips and have the rear end feel like it just hopped side ways on you.

All my mods include Cognito leveling kit, HD tie-rods, pitman and idler arm, 2in. block in the rear, Bilstein shocks and now the Sulastic Shackels.

I would definitely reccomend these products if your looking for a better quailty ride and smoothness to your truck. Major difference.

I just added some new pics to the garage. For some dang reason this computer won't let me post them in the thread so your gonna have to check out my garage.
If you need something else just ask.

Sounds awesome!

Nope, he will wait till I get back to drive my truck to get the feel for them. But I am sure he will eventually.

I have had the Sulastic springs installed for a while now and I was very pleased with the ride improvement. One way I could descibe it is that the rear suspension is similiar to the front now when going over bumps. It is much smoother as opposed to the harsh jar that was there before. They are made much heavier than the stock shackles also. I would recommend them if you are looking for a smoother more "car-like" ride from your pickup. :) Thanks to Nick for a great product.

Do these really help with the dreaded 55 mph shake. I have it bad!

#81 ·
How much do these help with the rear wheel hop in sand or loose gravel?

#83 ·
That is a different animal. That is actually axle-wrap. Wheel hop is the pinion trying to point up at the bed and then back to its normal position. Traction bars are what prevents this.

i know what part of my rebate check is going to :D

how easy to install the sulastic shackles, can it be done by a do it yourselfer? i have my eyes on the bilstein 5125s as soon as i pay off my LCD.

What about with a Bobcat loader and air tools  ?

Nick's right about the adjustable ranchos. They were great on my Suburban, but just don't perform as well on these trucks for some reason (RS9000XL. Never tried the Bilsteins before, but they're going to be my next purchase once these wear out. Plus, PITA to have to crawl under the truck every time you wanna make an adjustment.

My question Nick is- I will be purchasing a 08 or 09 GMC CC 1-ton Dually hopefully soon and these Sulastic springs seem to be the way to go.Now I have a 33ft 5er TB- thats approx-14k wet and 2k at the pin will I be ok with just this mod as I see you have bags as well?

#93 ·
I run bags because that is best for towing a large load. If you need bags before Sulastic's then you wil need them with. At the size trailer you are talking about I think bags for you all so would be a great upgrade. It also will help maintain your ride loaded.

#94 ·
yes, air bags are a must have for stable towing.

I think this is what your looking for,at least these were his results and I did not see any others, maybe someone has another result?

The receiver hitch had to be lowered to remove the shackle bolts, and the torsion bars were adjusted up 1/4". The front is +1" higher and the rear is +5/8" higher. At the suggestion of the installation tech I changed the tire air pressure while riding empty in the front from 55# to 65# and in the rear from 65# to 55#. The engine is where all the weight is and the bed is empty, it was visible in the tire sidewalls as he pointed out to me. Back up to 80# when towing. I drove the truck and was quite surprised at the big difference, especially after reading on the forum about all the big bucks spent on shocks and other suspension type items. I was skeptical to say the least, but now I am sold! Here is a link to the installation pics, read the inital comment for more information when you get there. Monty

Can you get the Sulastic's for NBS Dually's in a 2 " rear drop???

#100 ·
Have had the Sulastic springs on for a couple of days now. Made a very noticeable difference in ride quality and they were well worth the price. Much smoother ride and less jarring from the back. I have the yellow Bilsteins on my otherwise stock suspension with the T-bars cranked six turns, 285/70/17 BFG KO's (load range D) on H2 rims. I don't tow anything currently, so my comments pertain to an unloaded truck. BTW, Jeff at Nor Cal Truck was very helpful and gave good information. One of the better products I've put on my truck.
