when slowing down or stopping on semi rough roads or normal streets my 02 dmax will have a thumping sound under the truck as if something is hitting under the cab or on the frame any one else have this or heard of it? crew cab short box
ive got on 05 ext cab long box with same noise i was thinking about taking it in as warranty is almost up any help with this would be greatly appreciated
I have the same noise. It happens from time to time when I stop from a slow speed suddenly. Sounds like something that is loose settling forward(and no there is not anything in the bed to make the noise).
i use to have a 98 that did the same thing...took it in and the dealer said this was normal ...it was something in the drivetrain...cant remember what it was though...but they told me not to worry..
Mine does it once in awhile, most of the time its your locking diff engaging, it disengages at 25 mph and faster so what your prob hearing is the clutch packs engaging making the thump feel.
