Is this a worthwhile mod to make?

I have a stock downpipe (no Cat) with a 4" cat back exhaust, Banks brand.

Where is the best place to order a 4" downpipe?

The 4" exhaust looks to have a 4-3" taper welded on and that part is coupled to the stock downpipe by way of a clamp.

Seems that I would have to cut that part off to install a different downpipe. With the 4" ones (Banks or other) what type of fitting/taper comes standard? I am just trying to make sure that my 4" into a 4" will fit right if I cut that 4 into 3 taper part off. Wondering if any welding would be needed as well.

Ok - thanks, I guess I was mistakenly calling it a downpipe when what I really want is a front pipe. Still have some install mating concerns for the existing one to the new front pipe.

Just ot be clear...I already have a catless stock front pipe on my LB7 - is there anything to be gained by putting a bigger 4" front pipe on or is that just not worth it compared to other things I could do with that $$. (Like a Banks Big Head).?
