This is for my 06 van but need help
I replaced the steering box on my van last year because the old one was leaking, I noticed the lower shaft joint was junk as well. I swapped the shaft out, and 4 months later it's bad again, It binds up when turning. GM warrantied the shaft for a new one and it was smooth again. 3 months later same thing, the shaft is binding. The lower joint that runs at a nasty angle from the factory is what is locking up.
The front end is tight, with the shaft disconnected and the front in the airy out can turn the wheels left and right and no binding or anything.
Is this just junk parts or hidden issue?

I think you need to look at replacing some parts above that shaft. That intermediate bearing support could be allowing the shaft to move just enough to make it bind. I would replace it along with the lower shaft at the same time. Also check out the other small shaft that connects the column to the bearing support shaft.
