I went through the grease, steering column, then finally the bearing to solve my steering rattle. That was almost a year ago.

I am now "feeling" a rattle if that makes any sense. When they finally fixed the rattle the steering was tight. What I now feel on turns, especially right turns, is a "clunk, thunk" rattle. Do not hear it, but feel it in the steering column, and in the floor. Once I straighten out it goes away.

It is almost as if the whole steering chain - column, shaft, box, link arms, and pivot points are loose.

Have you heard of anyone else experiencing this or am I nuts.

I appreciate your answers to ALL the questions people ask, very educating.

Thanks

I get me bearings replaced in my trucks every 15,000 miles on average. This was the case in my 99,01 and now my 03 is starting to need it at 10,000 miles but I will probably wait a bit. I can't believe that they can't find a better solution then this.
