Hi All,

I am noticing a steering groan (not the clunk normally associated with the steering shaft) when turning slowly. It does not have to be a sharp turn to have the noise occur. It seems to be much more apparent after driving for a while (>45 miles). It has been getting worse over the last few months. It is a very short, very noticable groan that can almost be felt in the wheel. It only lasts for a second and does not seem to affect the actual steering, i.e. no shuddering or shaking while turning. Any ideas?

I have that same problem with mine....started after they repaired the steering shaft.

Change the fluid, sounds too easy, but dirt in the fluid will do this, and if your truck is serviced by a "drive in oil change", the cap is removed every time, and debris enter the resevoir.
