Sputtering, Stalled, no start

I have a 1999 vin F k2500 lots of new parts on this truck. Drove about 50 miles when the truck started sputtering and then stalled. PMD has been remounted to front bumper, has new lift pump, new injection pump. Truck stalled and wouldn’t restart had to get it towed home so haven’t checked it for codes yet. Only thing I know of is I have an injector leaking from where the two parts of the injector meet, already bought a new one just hadn’t replaced it yet. I have been driving it around like this for awhile and had no problems but is it possible this injector is the issue and suck air into the pump. Any suggestions? Gonna try a new PMD when I get home.

update: tried new pmd still wouldn’t start, and no codes were thrown. No fuel coming out of the injector lines. Lift pump seems to be operating fine. Injector was replaced, filter was bled, tried bleeding the lines multiple times and no fuel is coming out

The leaky injector cause air in fuel which will prevent the engine to start.

Replaced injector, bled filter, tried bleeding lines one at a time then opened a couple and I’ve got nothing. No fuel at any injector lines I did this several times and not even drop

Apply a 12v jumper wire to the lift pump relay to help force prime everything: Question: - Help...Fuel pressure drops after several...

If that is not successful then take the PMD off of the relocation harness and connect it to the OEM harness on the injection pump to rule out a relocation harness issue.

Check the fuel shut off solenoid for operation. Located on top of the IP. You should hear click and feel it as the ign key is cycled on and off.
When you blead the injectors did you crank the engine over while bleeding?
I crack the 4 fuel lines at the injectors on the dirvers side and crank the engine over till I see fuel coming out the injector connection. Tighten up connections then start.

Is there a certain amount of time i should run the jumper wire

I’ll check fuel shut off, and yeah I cranked it over several times to the point I had to pull the batteries out and charge them back up. I had one disconnected and was trying it then loosened 3 others and still had nothing. Maybe I’m impatient but I didn’t think it would take a severe amount of cranking to get fuel to come out the lines

I would run it for three start attempts let it rest then try it again for 3 more

Also, make sure your batteries are fully charged and individually load tested.
The batteries need the power to spin the motor over fast enough for combustion to take place
This may help (or it may not).

Did some testing on electrical and was looking things over, noticed the ground on top of the injection pump had a lot of room to wiggle around was fairly loose, tightened it down and truck had fuel and started. Is this ground for the fuel shut off.

The ground on top of the Injection pump is for the PMD harness

Weird I tested the connector from the pmd to pump to see if the circuit was grounded, everything came back okay but I’m guessing it was just enough to get a reading but the ground was actually not good. Will update again if I have any issues gonna drive it for the next couple hours to see how it goes

I have 99 6.5 that had similar issues. Once I replaced the PMD it would not start. No fuel to the injectors when trying to start. I fixed mine by cycling the key on and off for a few minutes. Was a problem that GM had on all vehicles, apparently it’s a glitch in the anti-theft system and that’s how you reset it.

Turned out to be pmd ground wasn’t good, but this info is always good to know!

check your oil pressure switch. The switch supplies power to your lift pump.
