I'm curious about the spin-on that I'm about to change... I can't see it in the hydraulic schematic anywhere in my allison factory manual?

The sump panel filter is there, but not the spin-on (unless I'm blind).
So - is the spin-on simply a oil cooler return line filter, or is it the main filter for the valve manifold / soleniods?

:)

Slide under your truck, it's at the driver's side front of the transmission...

ok - sorry, I know where it is physically, I'm just curious if it is actually just a 'return filter' (like on the chrysler 545rfe for example) or if it is the 'main' control filter for the whole trans. :)
