Hi Guys,

What could make speedo needle to jump up'n down (0 <=> 35 mph) for 2 to 3 seconds after cold start??
Also I've sometimes noticed a harder "kick" with 2nd gear when speeding up more heavily and short delay 3rd to 4th also. Shifts fine when I drive nice :)
Oil is changed 4 months ago (+ filter + TCC switch), no signs of particles or burned oil etc.
I wonder if this "hickup" what happens with OD ~1800rpm, could be transmission issue instead of engine/fuel? (yes, everything is checked/changed except IP)
165k miles, no trans service history known. IMO, Sub is in very good conditions.
Bigger tires yes, speedo buffer modified to show actual speed.
Same things were seen with 265/75/16 tires...

I have the TDScan sw and I try to learn all the data what is available...

The jumping Speedo is a grounding issue. Check and clean all grounds.

Hi, I have checked/cleaned all groundings around engine/batteries.

Is there more places to check? (inside, fuse block? close to PCM?)

Thanks, kane

The offender for me was under the hood, on the intake manifold.

I have also added more grounds from the batteries to the body and engine, and i haven't seen it in about a year.

Thanks Hauler, I will get more grounding straps/wires. With these trucks, there's never too many of them
