I've got a check engine light that has popped on twice. First time I swung out to pass a semi, pretty heavy on the throttle going from 65 to 75. Half way out the truck seemed to almost shut down, and the check engine light popped on. Pulled over, shut it down, checked everything I could, started back up, and its driving fine. I'm pulling 7,000 pounds give or take, and was in tow haul mode with the DSP5 on the 70hp tune. Not getting hot, good oil pressure, everything seems in check. It went off after 15 min. of driving, and turned back on 50 miles or so later while going down a hill with the turbo holding the truck back in tow/haul. Immediately went off as soon as I gave it throttle. Any ideas. I'm gonna find an Autozone in the morning and have it scanned, but until then whats your guys thoughts? Also, some pictures of drive shaft u-joint surgery in the middle of BFE New Mexico. The retaining clip broke, and was clicking in the yoke, driving me nuts.

Its the flux capacitor...lol

Mine was doing the same thing, and it was the fuel injector harness.

change your fuel filter

I also would suspect a harness rub. Also have you used the ice pick on #2 and #7 injector clip? That can cause some issues. Both are relatively easy fixes to try.

I would suspect the fuel filter when you passed the semi.

You said "turbo holding the truck back" so I'll assume you have a turbo brake programmed in. You may have thrown an underboost code going down the hill, and the light went off when the underboost condition went away, via throttle.

Definitely check the harness and 2/7 just cause they are easy and cheap fixes.

Ok thanks guys, I'll check both the 2/7 and the harness, and I'll change my filter. I'll have to look up both the the 2/7 and the harness rub issue, this is the first I've looked into them. I assumed it was the turbo holding back in tow/haul, it holds back and sounds like the turbo is doing it. IDK new truck still learning the ends and outs.

trans code. P0735 time for a mike l. stage 4

I do that a lot. You are limping it. You and i need to save up for a trany to hold the extra power. First time I limped it I was in tears thinking I blew my truck up lol. I carry a code reader/scanner all the time now. Good luck.

We're all in the same club. I'm going to pay Mike a visit after the holidays. First time home buyer tax credit is buying me a trans.
