I remember some of you guys talking about rear wheel well lners. I asked then if anyone had done anything about the space between the front bumper and the wheel well lining. On the 02's there is a piece of rubber across that space.
I cleaned my truck up today for the first time in quite awhile (been alot of bad weather ). There is a space between the metal bumper and the black plastic cover,it's full of gravel.
Just wondering if anyone has come up with something for this. Any ideas how to get the gravel out
Help !

Billy,

I get dirt under the black cover too.
It seems like it's less since I covered the gap in the front of the wheel liner but it stilll collects sand and salt. I use a hose to flush it out peroidcally but I plan to remove the black cover this spring and spray the covered portion of the bumper with AMSOIL Heavy Duty Metal Protector. I'm also open to any better ideas...

Bill,

Thanks

Very neat looking job. Mind if I ask what u made it out of? Is the cover very hard to get off the bumper? I've got to get the gravel out, makes my skin crawl thinking about them in there. I flush it out to but I can hear all the gravel when I do. The metal protector, did you buy it online or from a dealer?
Thanks for the very good information and pictures!
I hope I can fix mine similar to yours.

Thanks

Billy,

Thanks for the feedback
…. I made the cover out of some thin plastic sheeting I had laying around. In an earlier forum discussion I seem to remember someone saying they found this type a material at Lowes or Home Depot. My cover is attached with stainless steel screws and RIV-NUTS and uses some of the same holes that hold the fender well cover on. (I've also replaced the plastic retainers that hold the wheel well covers on both sides with RIV-NUTS). I made a bracket as shown in the pics to hold the lower outside corner of the cover. It’s basically a cut to fit install.

Concerning the AMSOIL HD Metal protector, I bought a case when I was still an AMSOIL dealer but I’m sure you can get if from Greg ( www.Lubespecialist.com ).
