I just receive my Nicktane (DANG!! That's a big filter!!)....

Anyway, the instructions state to use a pipe thread sealant on the fittings that connect to the head. Do I have to use the brush on pipe sealant or can I use teflon tape?

Also, it is my understanding that the 90* QD fitting is the one that connects to the tank. If that is the case, why a 90* QD when the OE fitting is straight?

Thanks for creating this kit. Its appears well thought out and made with quality in mind.

teflon tape will work just fine. I've used both before.

a 90* QD is used on top of the tank because the line is going a different direction from the sender to the filter vs. if you didn't have the filter. if you didn't use a 90* there you would just have to make a bigger loop with the line to bring it around.
