I have been told by Schaeffer that their new full synthetic Dex 6 ( OEM is only semi syn. ) exceeds TranSynd. I allready use their synthetic 9000 engine oil which exceeds Mobil Delvac 1 and am very happy with it.
Have you ever tried Schaeffer's 204SAT synthetic Dex III in an Allison? I'm curious because I might want to switch out the Dex VI to Schaeffer's 204SAT Dex III. I've been told by my friendly Schaeffer's rep that Allison wasn't pleased when GM switched to Dex VI. It's further proof that the Big 3 think they can attain better fuel mileage by using thinner lubricating fluids. I wonder what the long term durability of an Allison 1000 is if you only run Dex VI? What about towing at max GVW. Will the transmission last?
Thanks for the heads up Mike,Ive been using Shaeffers oils for about 10yrs now. I will order some for both my rigs, there products are top notch, and priced reasonably.
I posted the Schaeffer Dex VI .pdf file on Jan. 22nd. There was concern regarding the low flash point. They also put Viscosity Index Improvers in the Dex VI but not in the 204SAT Dex III. Have you ever used Schaeffer 204SAT ATF? Thanks for you insight...
