 I think new injectors are up there on the list. When I put the engine back together, I put a set of "Medallion" injectors in it that I bought at Accurate Diesel. The injector hammering has quieted down but on a cold start it will only run on 6 or 7 cylinders until all the excess fuel is blown out. 1 or 2 injectors must be leaking down. It appears that I got less than the cheap price I paid for them. I'll have to look and see what I have around. I may have a new set of Delphi injectors yet. I had 8 sets of them at one time.
A few more pics as the varnishing continues. And the old hinges with the new piece of brass continuous hinge. Hoping to get the last coats of varnish on today. Then assembly tomorrow.
:coolnana: I put all the pieces together tonight.
There was red carpet in the bottom of the main part. I may put in fabric instead. I'll have to look and see what I have around.
I'll have to make space in my shop to get the truck back in. Kind of clogged up with engines right now
After a long:facepalm: pause with other distractions, I got the Maroon 93 back in the shop.
Originally I planned to take the passenger seat back out to mount the console. I didn't finish bolting it down because of that. No real need to take it back out. By tipping the console it will tuck right into position. With it in position, I marked the carpet with masking tape where the sides were and the front mounting holes. I had planned to use a couple short pieces of angle iron to attach it in the rear . After trying my 2 different lengths of long [3" and 6"] self drilling screws, I decided to just screw 2 pieces of 2x4 to the floor, then screw into them. Worked out very well and no exposed fasteners.:thumb::thumb:
The console looks better ,in there, than I thought it would.
Next interior cosmetic work will be adding the other wood pieces from the parts burb that the console came from.
On the down side CensoredCensored My fuel leak has returned. It left a puddle of fuel on the floor:thumbsdow:thumbsdow Looks like I will be taking the intake off......AGAIN. Last time the leak was, or so I thought, a high pressure line leak at the IP. All the o-rings in the FFM and rubber hoses and clamps have been replaced. Perhaps I will replace the injectors as long as it's tore down that far.
I was sidetracked tearing a couple 6.5 engines down and organizing some of my 6.5-90's truck parts. The parts in my shed are starting to look good:thumb:. Much work in the barn though. I need to make room for the 4- 6.5 trucks that I will be junking soon.
In case anyone is wondering,:shake: No parts are for sale at this time.:nope:. I will put a ad in the marketplace when I do start selling with the hassle of shipping.

If this is a '93, could be the throttle shaft seal on the I.P. That's happened to me twice over the last 20 yrs. with my '93. Seems to always leak after the engine is shut down when there's no pressure against the back side of the seal. HTH.
 Already have the fleet. See signature Need the time and money to put them all together. I do plan to sell several of them when I get them running. My Homeowner's Insurance Company is on my ass about so many trucks in my yard:thumbsdow. Looks like I need a new Insurance company, one that likes Chevy trucks.
I did get the fuel leak fixed. I removed the intake........again and checked everywhere. No good clues about where the leak was. :wtf: So, I tightened all the high pressure lines to the IP and tightened all hose clamps:confuzeld It worked. After putting it back together, no Leaks :thumb: Finally !
Yesterday I decided to put on diamond plate bed caps and a Weatherguard tool box. Both came off of other trucks. The bed caps got pretty bent up removing because some genius glued them on. I straightened them and removed the adhesive. I think one was glued with roof cement. Messy to get off.
The tool box also needed some repair and straightening. I still need to get new gas struts for it and new lock buttons.
I plan to add Unistrut for cargo tie downs on the box sides and on the tool box.
It's been a while since I updated this thread. The truck was starting and running well but still had the injector knock-rattle. I've towed with it a few times and it seems to have good power. It had developed a couple oil leaks:thumbsdow on the passenger side valve cover and the lubrication specialist oil cooler lines. Not quite bad enough to justify a teardown again.
Then things went quite bad. I was 80+ miles from home when something let go :wtf:. Wasn't sure exactly what it was but thought it had broken the flexplate.Censored This truck had a broken flexplate when I bought it. If it broke another in only a few thousand miles, something was seriously wrong.
:thumbsdowI had to have it towed home.:thumbsdow I've only been towed 4 times in my life. It cost me CensoredCensored$480 !
Since this truck had broke a flexplate before, I prepared to have to replace the engine and transmission[again on the transmission] It just so happened that there was a 93 6.5td and 4L80E for sale on FB Marketplace. A few days later I finished the trip I was on ,when I broke down, and went to check out this engine and trans. It was about 60 miles from home. I bought it for $800 delivered to my door. I hadn't checked out my truck yet to see what actually happened.
A few days later, I dug into the truck and found that 3 of the 6, torque converter bolts had fallen out. These bolts had locktite on them when I put the transmission in it.:wtf: I have no idea how they could have come loose, but they did and wrecked the torque converter, flexplate and the inspection cover. The good news was that the trans was not gushing oil, so the seal and front pump should be ok yet. The bad news was that I didn't need to by a replacement engine and trans.:confuzeld The engine I bought had signs that it had been rebuilt at some time. I won't have to look far to find a truck to put it in.:thumb:
So the next move since this engine had oil leaks and needed new injectors, was to pull the engine and transmission/transfer case.
Flexplate holes all egged out
Torque converter carnage. Threads are trashed
oil leaks at rear of valve cover
back together with used torque converter and new flexplate
going back in the truck
