A nice looking size for our trucks is 255/85R16 and they safely fit on the factory rims. A lot of people are also running 265/75R16, these are about the widest that you should mount on the factory rims.
I've had 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my truck for about 15K now. Haven't had a single problem. Realistically they're a little big for 6.5" rims, but they haven't worn funny or handled poorly at all. I like the combo.
Yeah I got like 15K on my BFGs 265 75 16. I wouldnt go any bigger personally. My first BFG tire purchase ever, So far, I give em a 8 out of 10. Im gonna try Procomps next I think. I never had a tire make it past 30K yet no matter what brand, I have a touch more than 1/2 left so maybe ill break the record
