2018 3500 dually. 90k miles. Pulls 45 foot horse trailer.

Last night "reduced Engine Power" came on. Stopped and topped off DEF, took one container, was not low. Continued driving after cycling key as reduced power came on again.

Reduced power came on again. This time I had then change fuel filter. Made it 3 hours. Light came back. Had them disconnect batteries. This cleared reduced power again.

Wife is a veteran driver. She noted a DPF smell yesterday am. She knows smell from an 2008 Freightliner we used to own with a 8.3 Cummins.

I'm thinking forced re gen via scan tool needed? Awaiting call back from dealership.

Any good independent shops near Wellington, Florida?

My guess would be faulty NOx sensor(s).

If you Google search there are some shops nearby in West Palm Beach.
One is a Napa AutoCare Center

I'm guessing not a NOx sensor if the message is 'reduced engine power'.
NOx sensor on LML were known problem - but message was 'DEF quality poor'.

NOx on L5P haven't been as problematic.

I'm thinking it's more likely engine or trans temp related - and reducing power to 'protect' itself.
Maybe a boost leak.

At 90,000 it's still under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

I understand that some GM shops are better than others, but warranty is warranty. Their diagnostic tools may be better than some of the independents.
