I have a 2006 duramax with 15,000. I was going to drain the rear end and was woundering, After you drained the rear end do you need to use a friction modifier or can you just refill it with 75w-90 Gear lube. Thanks for any info
just the straight 75-90w Synthetic don't need any additive but must be full syn. I used mobil1 myself.......if you do a search there are a few choices ....some stuck with the GM grape smeling version, etc
if you havn't already you might double check your owners manual.....mine is a 2002 and I don't think it was different for the 06's but I ddon't want to steer you wrong on the oil weight
