Here is the scenario:
Current truck has the base radio which I would like to replace with a US8
radio out of a Colorado truck. What needs to be done? It is a reg. cab without external amp or anything like that.
Since this radio was never an option in a fullsize, what equalizer calibration should I get?
The GM Part Number of the radio is: 15216905
A possible VIN (Colorado) is:
1GCCS146858103820
- RPO UQ3 is an amplified system ( I assume external amp ?!) Would that work?
- Or is the base speaker calibration UQ5 the way to go?
What is really comes down to is:
Can I just walk into a dealership and tell them I would like the following
part numbers to be programmed into the radio:
15175597 EQ UQ5
15064113 Tuner, Europe

Another Q: Is it possible to hook up an external 6-disc changer out of a 99 truck to that kind of radio?

Thanks,
Lennart

Heres what you do... plug the US8 radio in, write down the part number from it, go to the dealer, enter your own VIN (you dont need a colorado VIN), then select the correct part number for the radio, then select the appropriate operating software, tuner software, and then select the AUDIO software that says "for c/k: UQ3/UQ5. for s/t: without uqa". Finally, select the appropriate equalizer and system software and away you go.
