Ok, we have all this hp and torque on here, with increased rev limiters and speed limiters removed or bumped up. So, now when we put it to use racing a fords, dodges, and rice burners. What is the best detector or jammer for the buck, or any good stories? Can't waite to play a little this summer

Wouldn't it be nice to have a broad spectrum ECM like the F/A 18's have

Or better yet, a HAARM Missile strapped to the roof rack so when you get 'painted'.......just fire and forget!

i run a k40 and a diffuser up front. if you get a ticket by radar/laser in the first two years. they will pay your fine. i know because i got a 170. ticket and sent it to them and received payment few weeks later. the diffuser up from scrambles it so they don't get a lock on you for 5-8 seconds. can't tell you how many people i just passed and the cop pulls them over. as for my ticket, they told me i was going 114mph. i used to race motorcycles all over the states and going to florida for a national in a toyota t100 with 2 bikes in back, hell the truck only had a v6. long story short. couple weeks later on 60 minutes had a special on these georgia police on 95 doing bogus speed traps.

The V1 is a good unit but a little large for my taste so I went with the Passport8500 and it has saved my butt many times. The key is dont drive too fast by yourself...run in a pack and your chances of slowing before he tags you are greater.

We actually sell al ot of detectors and the Escort 8500 is one of the most popular. I ran one for a long time and never had any tickets, but Mack is right you can't beat instant on.....anymore. We used to be able to get some full blown jammers, but they are pricey and bulky, but they work!

The v1 is good, but it is better when remote mounted under the truck and that gets $$$.

WE also have some laser jammers that work 100%. These mount on the outside of the truck on the bumper(s). There is a speaker that mounts in the cab (tiny) and an on/off switch.

I'm a bear in my town... nothing beats the laser and the guys who thought they had something to beat it weren't too happy in court.

my best friend is a local bear as well, heck he worked for me for 6yrs. There are things that beat the laser.

The only way I have ever seen a guy bust someone with these jammers on is a funny story. He knew we had them and he was helping us test them, we jammed him all the way to the gun. His gun actually gives an error, but he knew what we were doing and kept bearing down on us. As we went by he kept trying to hit the rear plate, tailgate or anything else to no avail, but he got smart and shot the passenger side mirror, and got a speed on us.

Moral of the story is that unless someone knows they are being jammed they will think they got a bad read or an error. These are active jammers and not passive jammers. They are legal becuase the FDA control laser unlike radar.

Of course we recommend to slow down as soon as the jammer goes off and then turn the jammer off. This is just common sense. I am also suprised at how well the Escort 8500 picks up laser. OF course you are dead meat, but it actually picks it up very well for being in the window.

Maybe we can set something up with you and someone in your town to do some testing.

I usually run with a "wing-man" or two... Works like a champ until the wing-man figures it out and slows down forcing you to pass...

When there's no one around you, I don't care what detector you have, you're gonna get nailed...

RMR uses passive jamming. Like I said, the ones I use are ACTIVE JAMMERS. Big difference and laser anything is legal, I explained that already.

You are 100% correct RMR (Rock Mountain Radar) is a bunch of hooey. They do not work.

Actuall if you want to get down to it and you run the highways a lot buy a CB. That is the best detector ever!

Pm me or Email me @ [email protected] and I will send you some prices. I do not keep them on the site, as I typically only sell them wholesale, but if you guys need something I will treat you right. If there is enough interest I will get Van to do another group buy or something.

V1 IMHO is the best there is. Passive jammers don't, period. Actively jamming Radar can be done, but's it's difficult and expensive because you have to jam 3 different frequencies now or barage jam. To say nothing of it's illegality. I don't know about Laser. If you are jamming anything you are not a friend to the rest of us as you will set off detectors all around you as you are operating on the same freq. as the bears and are indisquishable from them as far as your detector is concerened. CB's are worth mentioning on heavily trafficed roads like interstates.

On edit; Quad, keep me in mind on the Laser jammer if it's active and works.Edited by: a64pilot

I quit running one altogether a couple of years ago. Tickets got too expensive and IMHO they just give you a false sense of security. I got hit with laser doing 96 in a 50 zone, $350 ticket, went to court and got it reduced to $173. The same day I removed my radar detector and haven't used it since, I just stick within 10mph of the speed limit, and I haven't been pulled over or gotten a ticket since then, and that was over two years ago.Edited by: Camstyn
