Well after a long wait I now have a few of these kits ready to ship.

Racor 2 micron filter with lift pump, water sensor and heater. Comes with frame mounted bracket, fittings and hose. Also has its own control unit and the pump can be used to prime the filter and the OEM as well. RTeplacement elements are not in yet.

I'm a little confused. Is this the new kit that Racor has come out with for the DMAX, or is this a kit put together by Lube Specialist?

The whole kit is $350. Replacement elements should be in in the next couple of weeks or sooner. It will deliver a max of 10psi. Has internal regulator and bypass. One inlet and one outlet which are 3/8 npt. As far as other applications I can't say for sure. Racor has had this unit out for a couple of years now.

Greg....

Is the pressure adjustable? What setting do you recommend for those of us with a post OEM Mega who are having to bleed ours every few hundred miles? Is it wired to begin pumping as soon as the switch is cut on (glow plug position) to ensure flow when the key is then turned to the crank position?

Why the pressure pump ? Added resistance? I take it we're putting this before stock filter. That's great, 10 micron filter should need changing once a month if thats the case.

Is this the same setup that GM is working on as an option? Sure would like to have the GM stamp of approval.

Anyone planning to run the lift pump continuously? This pump seems to be intended for occasional operation, I wonder if it has the strength/durability for continuous operation?

This pump is made for the application we are wanting. I have talked to one of Racors engineers and he says it will work fine. But I guess if you asked another it won't be OK.

Very cool Greg!

The switch bracket says prime. So is it really a lift pump or a priming pump? I would *guess* that a guy would think it was primarily for priming rather than a lift pump, but that would depend entirely on one's interpretation of what the switch really means.

Are there any specs on filtration and flow rate?

Yes it is primarily a lift pump but withthe switch you can use it to prime the filter as well. The elements that I have in these plus the replacements are 2 micron. Flow is rated at 50 gph.

Thanks Greg!

From another thread, I also recall some talk about pumps introducing harmonics and thereby causing less fuel filter effectiveness. If you get a chance, could you ask that Racor engineer if this is addressed, or is even an issue, with this application?

Its my feeling that in this application that its not and issue. You will have it mounted quite aways from the pump. George Morrison and talked a lot about this very thing.

I think this filter is a slick idea and I'd want to run it continuously. I'm just wondering how an integrated pump's vibrations would affect the filter media's effectiveness. I agree the vaccum pump would be well isolated from this pre-OEM filter installation.

Is this the kit that RACOR and GM have sanctioned, or, not? As I recall the RACOR/GM kit did not have a lift pump.

Any word when the GM approved filter kit is coming?

Is this pump adjustable so you can provide zero pressure at the test port?? Is the filter in the system before the pump?? Are there filters available that are less than the 2 micron rating??
