Well, 489.3 RWHP, with 1210 torque. That doesn't sound like much, but it was a crappy dyno with small rollers. Nick D' Amico lost over 100hp. I got 4th place out of 30 trucks. Just out of a trophy:mad: . I got 2nd on #2 only, behind nick d' amico, even ahead of Dmax Doug.

I like it a lot, and it is especially good for towing, and don't forget, 2nd and 3rd place were running nitrous.

Dude, a lot of us on here would enjoy having that power to drive on everyday. Plus, have better EGT's than stock. If the dyno was that bad, then you know full well that you've got over 500 @ the wheels.

Line up with anything on the street (except a hotter DMAX) and there ground meat.;) Congrats on the #'s.

500RWHP is nothing to sneeze at! NEVER be discouraged by low numbers. Sometimes dyno conditions are not optimal, sometimes tuning is.

I have seen trucks that get 'bad hair days' as well that dyno some 80HP less than before. In some cases fuel quality plays a part, as does fuel filter cleanliness, and air cleaner cleanliness, fresh oil in the sump etc.

Nope, 493 is an accomplishment! Congratulations!

By the way, this was uncorrected, it should be in the 500s corrected. The horsepower and torque curves were completely flat. Almost no action

Hell, even with 450 on the street, your giving a broad range of sports cars a run for their money. I'm only pushin' 380 @ the wheels and I feel pretty confident when something wants to run. 100 plus extra @ the wheels!?

It would only take me half a heart beat to decide if that Vette, Stang, or Rice Burner wanted some good ol' #2.:D

Did you log how much boost it was making at peak HP RPM?

If not, what was the peak horsepower RPM?

From looking at the numbers from the event, I would guess numbers were down about 20%. Nick's truck makes over 700, but the dyno showed 589.

If that is indeed the case, you actually hit about 580 relative to a load cell dyno.

Congrats guys!
The loss was due to the fact that the mid-west was causing a temporary shift in the earths movement.:D
Look at your torque numbers. 1200+ is an indication that you are probably close to 600 rwhp.

The guy running the dyno told me that it was off by 12%. After we were about 20 deep i think it was off farther than that. Great job dieselson, your truck sounded awesome. With that turndown on your exhuast i thought they were going to have to shovel the soot off the pavement LOL. Alot of guys were spinning there tires on the rollers, none the less a very fun day!!

I smelled rubber when Nick's truck was running which didn't help his numbers. There was at least one truck I know of running Tony's Moonshine with stock injectors, CP3 and turbos only mustered 439hp/975TQ. We know that is normally right at a 500hp tune. No tire slipping on that run.

I didn't know what to expect since this was my first time on the dyno. I've tuned my truck stictly by my SOTP meter. When I did my runs the dyno operator said my first run he messed up but I'm not sure what he meant by that. We ran it again and my TQ peaked 20lb/ft higher and about 25rpm lower than the first run. I switched my tune which had slightly more fueling than the first one but a little lower rail pressure and it dyno'd almost exactly the same as the first run. After running my truck the operator said he'd never had to load his dyno that high before. I'm not sure what all this means but that was the info I got on my run. Also the operator said most of his experience is with gassers. I'll try to get my chart scanned today and post it.

No doubt the dyno read low. I saw the correction factor as I sat in most of the d-maxs during the pulls. The CF never got above 1.01. I even saw it down in the .96 range.

Great run Dieselson, nothing to be ashamed of. Not to take it off subject, but is anyone going to post the results in another thread?

What kind of dyno was it, and what size roller or rollers did it have? I am in the market for a dyno and with the $$,$$$ involved I want to be sure to get it right. The event in Indiana was run on a Dyno Jet load cell. I did not know that Dyno Jet had a load cell. From the looks of the video posted the roller was small. My understanding is that a huge roller with load capabilities is the way to go; example Superflow.

You are on the right track. You want a big roller with a load cell to be able to load anything with big torque.

The rollers were like 14". (not big enough)

Huck, give Dunbar a call....he'd also know what you'd need to look for.

Dieselson, congrats! Your numbers are nothing to sneeze at!
