Power Window not working, passenger door. - Little help, please?

Didn't see any other threads on this, so hopefully not a common problem.
The passenger side power window has quit working. Won't work from either switch. Can hear an electrical "click" from inside the door when trying w/ either switch, so I don't think the switches are bad.
Anyone have any experience w/ this?
Is it the window motor or something else?
What tool is req'd to take the door panel off?

Door panel can come off with a 7mm socket and a small pocket screwdriver (detaled description in the '06 mirror threads). Then check for power and ground at the motor. Usually the motor goes bad, but could be the regulator (cables and stuff) locked up too.
More than likely the window regulator. Both eventually broke on my 01 HD.
The passenger side stopped working, but I could still hear the motor click and the lights would dim. Driver's side window actually fell inside the door one day. IIRC the cables on the regulators are prone to rust and will break.
Was the window sluggish to roll up or down before it stopped working?
Well, the regulator sounds cheaper than the window motor.
Window was never sluggish up or down, just shorted out a couple times intermittently, now won't go up or down with either switch. Appears to draw power though. Can hear a click and a little light dimming if the truck's not running.
Thanks for the help
More than likely the window regulator.
Window problem

Grit Dog,
I had that same problem on two different vehicles. First in my 2005 HD I had this happen and there were a few other things not working as well. You didn't say if you had passenger side electric seats but that stopped working on mine as well as the window. If you have thse other features, that will tell you it is not a window motor. The problem was a wiring harness that will over heat and or short out and blow a red 50 amp fuse in the fuse block under the hood. It happened when vehicle was fairly new. Then I later traded that truck for a 2006 Dually and it did the exact same thing. I don't know if this will help but one thing you could do right off the bat before taking anything apart is to check that 50 amp fuse.
Good luck.
lbzowner, they are two different systems. '02 and under are back to the oldfashioned wiring and switches. '03 and up use door, mirror and seat control modules to do everything. Much more complicated than the old way, and stands to reason why more things go wrong.

try this,

with the ignition switch on and door open,

hold the window switch in the desired direction you need the window to go and slam the door

if the window starts working, good. if not, you got problems.

this worked for my 98 but i havent had any issues since.
Well, my right window decided to stop working last week. Came to this forum and searched "window regulator" and found this thread along with others. I shook the window, slammed the door, cussed everything in sight and it still didn't work. Had power to the motor in both directions, still didn't work. Called 1A Auto.com and ordered a motor and regulator assembly, UPS delivered it at dark-30 yesterday. Went out at 09:30 this morning and R&R the motor and regulator assembly and am back in the house writing this message at 10:45......Finished, done, thru with the job. The parts from 1A Auto were alot heaver built than the GM OEM that I removed. Thanks to all that have had problems with power windows in the past and posted their experiance on here with sugesstions on how to and where to buy parts other than from GM. Local GM dealer wanted, $119.00 for the regulator, $96.00 for a motor and $136.00 for labor to install!!! HELLO!!! I got a little less than $120.00 in the repair and that includes UPS freight. Did the work myself and didn't have to leave the truck at the dealer for them to scratch and beat up the paint.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Hadn't done anything yet, but it's getting warmer now and time to roll the windows down. I will look into 1A auto.com for the parts. Sounds reasonable $. I'm suspecting the motor and not the regulator due to the low miles on the truck and the fact that it's the passenger side window. Seems the drivers window would wear out first, seeing the most use.

I just had my passenger side regulator replaced @ 24,000 miles . Experienced the exact same symptoms as you are.
