Just wandering if anyone has seen/used this stuff. Just got it in at work and was curious if it was worth a darn or not. They have several different products for winter, cetane booster, year round treatment all specifically for Bio Diesel and Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuels. To my knowledge, this is the first product compliant with the ULSD and Bio.

Stanadyne can also be used with B5 Bio! I just sent out an E-mail as to the product base and whether or not it uses alcohol. I'll keep everyone posted.

I know it can be, I've been using it all along. I'm looking for feedback of Penray.

You stated "To my knowledge, this is the first product compliant with the ULSD and Bio." I just made the acknowledgement that Stanadyne is also compliant with both. I am still awaiting their responce to my E-mail.

I received a response to an E-mail I sent to Penray. I'll post both, and you be the judge:

Hello:

I am interested in your product, however, your website does not explain what the product base is. Is it an alcohol base? Does your product work by emulsification of water, or demulsification? I own a GM Duramax Diesel, and I was wondering if it is safe to use? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help,

Jeff

Jeff,
Since we have quite a few products, this is not an easy question to answer. In general, our products are not alcohol based. Further, for the most part we are not attempting strictly to emulsify or demulsify- it is simply a benefit of the product. However, on our winter treatments (Winter Pow-R Plus and Winter Blend) and our year round treatments (Fuel Prep) we are closer to an emulsifier. We disperse the water throughout the system.

In winter, if you demulsify, the water drops to the bottom of the tank and pretty much guarantees that you'll have a big ice block form. If you emulsify, it spreads the water out and, while some ice crystals may form, they aren't close enough to other water parts to join up and form big ice blockages.

In summer, it's the same principal. If you demulsify and the water goes to the bottom of the tank, it provides a larger and more suitable environment for bugs. We emulsify, spread the water out, and make it harder for the bugs to survive in your fuel.

All of our products, summer and winter, should be safe to use in your GM.

Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me if you have more questions.

Anyone know where you can get this other than a Kenworth dealer? I don't believe there are any Kenworth dealers in RI.

Their not the only one. Texas Refinery Corp.'s additives have been EPA certified for use in ULSD since day one. All of their additives meet the 40 CFR 79.23 spec. They are also made to be used in B2 through B20 BioDiesel blends.

As far as Penray goes I can't say I have ever seen it for sale anywhere around here. Most of the truck/tractor dealers around here carry Power Service and the PS doesn't seem to be working to well in the ULSD from what I have been hearing.
