Here are a few pics of my setup on our '95 'burb. According to my scanner, on #2 only it uses 25uL per injection at 65 mph, which equates to 20 mpg which it is getting. When the lp is turned on, the injection size goes to 11uL. This should equate to 45 mpg for #2 and around 25 mpg for lp.

Looks nice, I always enjoy reading about your latest projects. By the way I see in the photo you are using an old century lockoff, I've been having really bad luck with them lately, Won't seat off, leaking thru. I've quit installing them, You been noticing any problems with them. Jim

Jim,
I have had really good luck with the Century filterlocks. I have had them on at least 3 vehicles at a time for 18 years without any trouble. I did have one stick once, but it never did it again.

I drove the 'burb about 170 miles today using lp. I may have to revise my #2 mileage numbers down a bit. When climbing hills on the interstate, I had to cut back more on the lp than I had hoped; it got to rattling quite a bit. My daughter plans to take it to Chattanooga next week, that is a 1000 mile roundtrip. It should provide some good mileage data. Stay tuned.

You just bolted that big tank to the floor of the truck.
Isn't that kind of Illigal, some thing about having a fuel tank in the cab?
I built my system so the 20lb. propane cylinders are on the rease catty. Yea they are out side the frame but not much I can do short of real $150 fork lift tanks mounted to the frame.
I need a real solenoid that can handle liquid propane for my "liquid propane injection into the engine" rig.
The noids I have handle propane gas but they can not take liquid for some reason.
Got any thing?

Yes, the propane police frown upon such activity. However, The tank is about two feet from the rear, so it should survive a pretty hard rear end collision, and it is also more than a foot from each side. If it leaks, we will know it right away to deal with it. We used to have an Olds wagon with the same tank mounted behind the second seat. Drove it like that for 12 years, and the car was in two accidents during that time w/o incident.

I have a few different types of fuel locks. PM me for more info.

Once you have run this setup for a couple of months I'd really like to learn what your combined MPG is. I would also like to know what, if any power increase you saw.

Thanks!

I can already tell you that I think it has given it another 50 hp. It is quite a bit more peppy. My daughter will be back Sunday night, so by Monday I should know how much fuel it took. She left here w/both tanks full. She said that when she arrived in Chattanooga, the fuel gauge (#2) was down to 3/4. The trip o'meter said 525 mi. She hadn't looked at the lp gauge yet.

More mileage data

My daughter returned from her trip with the 'burb. Total miles were 1140. She had used all of the propane, around 45 gal. It took 38.3 gal of #2 to fill it. #2 mileage comes to 29.8. With #2 at $2.32/gal and lp at $1.45, it is almost a wash on total fuel cost of the trip. The lp probably only saved a couple of dollars. However, since the trip had alot of mild mountains, the extra torque was nice, plus she didn't have to buy any fuel. So, it looks like the 6.5 can use a bit more lp than #2, but not anywhere near the 3:1 ratio that the Dmax can do.
