ive rechecked my finger stick numerous times. i could still have it wrong but from what im reading the egr valve it really going bad. am i going to have to take the stick, block, and exhaust off to take it to the dealer? should i do it myself? is it the stick? the truck has only 6k miles on it, i want to blame it on the finger stick but i dont know

My EGR valve went bad at 2k....I never fixed it. I just dealt with the light until EFI Live came out. I bought the new EGR valve but McRat never found time to replace it.

I think it means your EGR valve has gone bad

From what I have read the finger stick won't fix the 46c.

Just find someone with EFI live and it will only cost you $99 for a licence to turn the light off... and you can get a nice free tune aswell

So does this mean the block and stick method is not perfict? Sounds like it causes premature failure of the EGR witch inturn will throw the CEL. Finding someone to tune with EFI Live, would this replace the need for the finger stick and then you just install the blocker plates?
