Just got done with head gasket job , put the truck back together ran good for 15 seconds then bad injector knock and limp mode throws code p0088 could it be bad fuel pressure regulator ?

Double check connections, multiple Underhood connectors are easily interchanged (alternator, fuel pressure regulators, and others I forget now)

You have a short or high resistance in your FPR supply circuit or the FPR control circuit. See attached.

High fuel rail pressure doesn’t necessarily mean an electrical problem, an electrical problem will set a circuit related code too that would have a higher priority than the rail pressure code. Most times a P0088 (or 87) it’s a hydraulic (fuel) problem. I only suggested checking connections above because I’ve seen it before and it will not always set a code, depending on what connection is incorrect.
