Wow, that's a heck of a good deal!! Getting together with another friend who has an 02 DMAX and wants to check out the Juice...kinda like a try it before you buy it thing. I told him I didn't want to have to fight him to get the box back after the test drive!!!

I will let him know about this, 'cause I know he'll want one. All it takes is one ride!!

Agreed. I didn't have anyone local (that I knew of) that I could get a ride in either. After all the positive posts on the Juice, I figured I couldn't go wrong!! Funny I have been antsy for my friend!! Both our family's are getting together tonight, while the ladies are inside doing their thing, we'll be outside toying with the trucks. It is amazing how slow time can go by when you are waiting for something!!

I just want to roast someone else's tires for a change!! I need to start up a collection from my neighbors each time they want to see some lines...

No matter which box you chose, you will be pleasently surprised with the performance of the truck.

Mike,

I gave up waiting for the Attitude. I was hoping to put it on at the end of May before our trip to Vegas to see my parents. But it kept getting pushed off.. That is when I decided to just put an EGT gauge on and be done with it. I bought the Juice for more power to tow our 5er, so I couldn't use it safely until I had something.

Currently I am running stock exhaust, but hope to get a 4" soon. Was thinking about getting Summit Racing's new 4" system, but looks like this Bank's group buy website is gonna be hard to pass up for only a couple of hundred more.

The wife....well let's just say as long as I do upgrades in moderation she doesn't seem to mind.. She was very pushy for me to get an EGT gauge after I bought the Juice. Now that she see's the temps getting hot pulling the camper, she is now pushing to get a 4" exhaust before next season!! Now to think of some way she can see that the stock shocks suck so I can get some Bilsteins on there!! Second fuel filter...mag hytec diff cover...it never ends. These forums will make you poor!!!!

Mileage seems to be the same with the Juice, however the Driver Information Center mileage calculator is off. It reads higher mileage than I am actually getting and shows me not using as much fuel as I really am. Oh well, I guess this is common with these boxes. I seem to get right around 17-18mpg on my work commute which is mostly highway but filled with construction. No in town numbers as of late so I couldn't tell you what it gets there. 19.5 was my best mileage coming back from Vegas.

Thought the other post was getting a bit long so...

It took me a while before I could decide on where to mount the gauge. I didn't want the A pillar mount, didn't want to mount in the over head cubby as that was where I put the garage door opener. It works out very well in that cubby. I got the idea from MDRAG on thedieselpage. He mounted a digital SPA gauge in there and looks slick. I did have to cut the back of the cubby off so I could tighten the thumb screws on the gauge that secure it to the plexiglass front. I orginally painted the plexiglass with a wrinkle paint, however it had too much texture. Tried bumper black and it seemed to work just fine. Took me a while to make the best fitting plexiglass front as well. I tried to make one sit just inside the cubby like MDRAG but couldn't make it look nice enough. So I made one that was the same size as the front of the cubby. Turned out excellant and have received compliments asking if it came with the truck when I bought it!!

No problems with glare, no need for an angle trim ring. Very easy to just glance over and get a reading.

I better stop, my posts are starting to turn into novels!! Sorry for being wordy!!

Mike,

Many thanks for the compliments!! It is pretty easy to make one, and I have some extra plexiglass laying around that I bet I could make another one out of. A small plexiglass square can be purchased from any home store very cheap. Either way, let me know.

The SPA digital one would work the same. Only thing I have heard is that you would need to use an angle trim ring so you can angle the gauge towards you. I guess it is a little difficult to read from the side without one. There are people that like it and those that don't. For me reading a needle in a "range" seemed easier for glancing, I feared that the temp numbers could change too much and be difficult to follow on a hard acceleration. The other reason I didn't get it was because I am cheap!! It was a bit too pricey for me...and because I don't plan on any more boxes, I didn't feel a boost gauge was necessary for my setup.

Mike,

Sorry I don't know anything about the pyro on the attitude. The latest I heard was you will still need to drill and tap the manifold to install the probe for EGT. You won't have to do anything for boost, I guess it is read electronically. I don't know if that is still accurate, so take that with a grain of salt. Edge products seem to be first rate material, so I would expect nothing less from them in any of their products. I am just a bit bummed that they keep pushing the release date further and further out. Oh well, the way they talk about it, and all the features it should be worth the wait for those interested in it.

I think I paid less than a dollar at Home Depot for my sheet of plexiglass. It was hidden in the back corner near the fiberglass insulation in this little wooden rack. I also used a 2" hole saw to cut the hole for the gauge. I then lined up the hole with the bracket I mounted inside the cubby and drew an outline of the cubby. Then I cut it, sanded it and painted it. By the way, I went to Wally World and purchased the cheapest oil pressure gauge I could find so I could get that gauge bracket. I couldn't find anyone that sold the gauge bracket seperately.

I have not gone in for any service or warranty work <<knock on wood>> since my one and only free oil change at 3k miles. I did talk with the service manager at that time and they had no problems with 4" exhaust and gauges but warned me about chips or boxes. I do not plan to see the dealer for any work, unless it is something that is too expensive to fix myself. But if I do, OJ gets left in the garage!! I am working on 11,000 trouble free miles and hope for many more!!

My concern with the attitude is whether it is able to be taken out of the truck easily. I think it would be very obvious if you had an Edge Monitor in the truck that there has been some type of power box added to the truck.
