Hey guys,

I have a 2006 GMC 3500 4x4 ec drw, with 8.1and ally trans 4.10 gears. I am looking at a toyhauler that is 11950lbs UVW with a GVWR 18000lbs. I will probably have around 15000lbs total in weight. I know i'm pushing limits on trailer wieght, how will the 8.1 pull with this weight? I thought bout trading in on diesel, but I"m only towing this bout 3 times a year long distance. All info appreciated.

THanks,
Kent

Fuel milage will suck and it will downshift a lot, especially on gradual interstate hills. The most that mine pulls 'easily' is about 9,000 lb total trailer weight. That's for a 2500 with the 8.1 and 3.73. It can pull more, but above 9,000 you can really feel it.
