Hey everyone! I am new to this forum, so here goes first post. I am interested in sending my oil out for analysis.... Where does everyone send theirs (I live in Oregon, and haven't been able to find anyone yet)? What's the cost? How do you do it? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

There are many options. Blackstone Labs, Cat, etc. Most offer a pre-paid analysis "kit" which is basically a sample bottle and paperwork that you submit for analysis. I have been using Predictive Maintenance Services, Inc in Ohio. The kits are available from AVLubricants www.avlube.com Greg Landuyt sells kits from Oil Analyzers, Inc. at www.lubespecialist.com
Both are sponsor vendors here at the Dieselplace. Cost varies with the analysis - a basic runs about $25-30 and you can get a full ferrographic with particle sizing and count and microphotos for around $100 with variations in analysis in between.

No problem - you can see some of my oil analysis results from Predictive Maintenance if you click the "SPREADS" in my signature.
