Hello out there. I'm currently seeking some good advice out there on some fixes for my 02 with the 6 speed manual trans. I am wanting to replace the dual mass flywheel and the whole clutch assembly. I'm currently having some small problems but I know what is to come, so I just want to replace it all with the most H/D parts that I can get. I do alot towing with a goose neck trailer, aprox 18000-19000 lbs combined weight. So I figured what better place to come, is that of those who have the same trucks and share some of the same problems that I do. I do want to stay with a dual mass flywheel. So if any one out there has any good input on this matter, please lend it to me.

Thanks for looking.

Go in the aftermarket thread and read up. Right now, South Bend Clutch (SBC) is having a killer deal on the new Dual Disc Clutch (DDC) / Single Mass Flywheel (SMF) with sprung hub...

Deadeye posted about it last Friday. Mine should be one of if not the first shipped!

dual mass flywheel are an ongoing problem for most. replaced first clutch at 20k had new fly wheel at that time and by 24k flywheel was clunking away. installed a smf and single organic disc about two months ago. haven't used it enough but drives way better , clutch wise. ours is a south bend. when i pulled the clutch you could rock the flywheel haves independent of each other a good inch. making for a nice rattle. i will get back to you in 75k miles on what i think of this clutch.
