has anyone had good luck with the OEM stuff? I am currently running my VA on the 150 setting with an occasional visit of the 220 setting and it seems to take anything I can throw at it without slipping I would think I would notice a slip but nothing yet anyone have anything to add? I am saving for a clutch but the wife is putting a damper on that purchase.....

I never had an issue with slippage, granted, this was while I was runnin a hypertech, so the power wasn't there... The flywheel is was ended up bein my problem, it started shaking and making all kinds of noises and such....

I'm sure everyone's story of how their factory set up went south is different, but in the end its all the same junk.... :bawl:

burn't the clutch down to metal while towing 29ft tin trailerhouse with no pushouts. very lite. 20k miles replaced clutch and cover and flywheel no coverage from gm normal wear 1800bucks. all stock pu. then in 4k miles the flywheel started making noise again.now for the same money we have a south bend single organic clutch , one piece flywheel and a fluid dampner.

Towing my 33' 5er w/ my VA set on 75, I fried my OEM clutch. After it started slipping, I couldn't run with the VA on at all, even solo.

This was my 3rd clutch from GM. I waited for SBC to finish developing the single disk clutch. With that clutch, the last tow I had the VA set on 110 and no problems at all.

Love the new clutch. All I can say about the OEM setup...it's not if it will give you trouble...it is when!

I would recmmend, on any SDC, that 110 tuner be the highest used so that you don't trash your clutch. I did the same on a dyno with an oem and it worked fine. When I turned up up to level 5 it smoked the clutch. It never recovered after that.
