Hey I'm looking for information/personal experience of anyone that installed a pilot bearing/bushing on the 6.5 diesel. The service manual, is clearly telling me to have it stick out of the crankshaft a little bit. When I measured mine, it sits at a nice 12.5mm from the snout of the crank. If not looking at the service manual I would have made it flush or slightly inset 0.5mm or so. I asked this on Facebook and the only answer I got was that when you install the transmission it pushes on the bushing during install to sink it to the perfect depth. It really does not sit well with me to "ram" a new input shaft of my rebuild into that bushing. Any comments or personal experience would be helpful thanks.

X2 on above. Faceplant is not a tool you can rely on.
