a buddy of mine has bought an lly with a salvage title. it is a nice truck but ... it has no low end power. from a dead stop if you floor it it will just set there for about 3 sec then start to roll slowly. it gets better as the rpm increases. the truck pulls good once it gets going though(upper rpm only). from a dead stop you cant even power break it. :eek:the only mod is a banks six gun with speed loader. i thought maybe the banks so i put my bully dog on it. it made some difference but not much even on crazy larry. i checked and no codes were given. thanks in advance for any help

this thing is driving us nuts trying to figure this thing out. i know this truck is sick because my lb7 smoke his ass till he gets going(no tuner even). so any help would be greatly appreciated :help:

It's probably the torque management system. It's designed to help reduce transmition slipping during an overtorque situation. Mashing the throttle from a dead stop will not work as well as rolling into it.

would the torque management system theory apply even at stock tune? btw it has like 65,000 mi thanks

i dont think it is the torque managment. what is the tranny temp, is the air filter clean, make sure that the maf sensor is good. just because it doesnt have a check engine light doesnt mean that it doesnt have a code in it. when is the last time the fuel filter was changed

I would be curious to know what boost it was making...

tranny temp never over 190 with a 11,000 lb trailer up a mountain, air filter new, and fuel filter 5000mi on it but no change when new. how do ya check a maf sensor? codes i checked with my bully dog and it said it was clear.

after the first time i smoked him. he went and changed both fuel and air filters. it made no difference. the thing that throws me off is its good in the upper rpms. i'm not that familiar with yalls turbo but is it possible for it to hang up in the upper band mode. THANKS YALL

If its making good power in the upper rpms that should mean there isn't a boost leak. Make sure he didnt change any of the settings on his pda that limit his fuel in 1st and 2nd gear. That is if he has a pda.

lly no low end power

i have a 05 that just starting doing this two days ago to. my boost once it gets going is 26psi i am running efi live. i have no low end power to. i also noticed there is no smoke while in my big tune. it use to smoke out the whole road. i changed the fuel filter and it did not change a thing. so i thought it was bad fuel so i drained the entire tank and put farm fuel in it no change and also put so cetain boost in it.

MAF sensor.

I agree I think it is the maf sensor .I had a car that had a dirty maf sensor and it did the same thing .It was not sensing air flow .All that was done to it was a good cleaning with the correct cleaner and it ran fine .
