I have a 42 gal aux tank and the tank is spliced into the truck fuel system with a 6 port valve. Currently I have a inline filter to filter the fuel from the aux tank before it goes into the valve. I want to change to a filter like yours but after looking at the install procedure it does not appear that your setup filters the fuel from an aux and the OEM tank. It seems the filter would have to be down stream of where you are tying in to accomplish filtering of both tanks. I believe the primary purpose of the inline filter was to keep trash out the valve more than filtering fuel before the engine gets it. This depends on the OEM engine filter for cleaning the fuel.

Can your filter be installed to filter both tanks? Is my assumption correct about having to install the filter differently than you are showing in the instructions?

Mine is tapped into the factory fuel lines forward of the cooler/defoamer. I cut the lines and installed a 6 port valve using hoses with barb fittings on both sides of the valve. The valve allows use of the gage system and tank selection with return fuel being routed to the tank the fuel came out of.
