Paul,

first off, welcome to the forum. I understand your eagerness with your new truck. i was so anxious to get mine i could barely stand it!

Ray403Dmax is correct, my kit does not have a water seperator. Your OEM filter does. Oddly enough, filter minder contacted me today and i am working with them on a drop-in addon for my kit. so yes you will be able to run a filter minder, and it will be positioned directly after the cat filter. you will even be able to see it too

The best thing you can do for the water, irrespective of secondary filtration, is to run a good fuel additive like Primrose 405 in the summer and Primrose 409 in the winter. more info on the primrose 405 can be found here:

and more info on the 409 can be found here:http://www.nicktane.com/primrose409.htm

they are both very concentrated (1 12oz bottle treats 160 gallons) and can be purchased through George Morrison at www.avlube.com.

Paul,

the phone # is 916.716.8999. that and much more info is also on the site. i think it is easier to change the filter pre-oem as nothing has to be removed from the truck to access it. you don't have to crawl under the truck. just put 1 knee on the ground and grab the filter with a filter wrench. if you pre-fill the replacement filter you don't even have to prime the system!

you'll have to ask filter minder about their gauge. i'm not sure and wouldn't want to speculate.

the nicktane kit can only be added pre-oem. there is nowhere to mount my custom bracket up front.

when it comes to water in fuel, any water seperator won't get all of it. George Morrison has seen more fuel samples than anyone here and can attest to that. the only way to get ALL the water is to use an additive. i prefill 3 oz pharmacy bottles and just dump 1 in with each 40 gallons i add. pretty easy!

let me know if you have any more questions.

THe oem filter is left mainly for warranty. i would never dream of removing it.. it also serves as a priming pump. and even though it isn't as good as the cat filter, it can still help a bit. 2 are better than one!
