I used to work for a dodge dealer, i still chose to buy a duramax. It is quieter, more reliable, and rides nicer. Certainly cant argue against the Allison trans. In the year or so that i worked at dodge i saw numerous cummins come in for injector pumps and several came in for communication problems between the J-Tech controller and the PCM. Even saw problems with no oil pressure and bad bearings due to using after market oil filters. The cummins at the time still was not using the common fuel rail either, saw several fuel lines crack and leak all over the engine.
