Just my opinion but once truck styling got past the rounded look of the 1950's and into the more boxy style that continues to today - a stepside just doesn't work for me. No matter how they tweak the rear fender style it looks like an old bed tacked onto a new cab.
Looks more like early 80s bed and the step is a bit long for a short bed. I had a 83 the same color and that one has the same tail lights and tailgate latch... hmmm
I know it's an old thread, but IMHO the last good looking chevy stepside was the 66. It looked like it was doing 60 sitting still with the stamped front & rear "visors".
