My Chevrolet dealer, ... yes that is correct, my Chevrolet dealer just recently installed a new Racor Fuel Filter as a pre-filter to the OEM filter on the Duramax. My Service Manager thought that this was an excellent idea and also thought that I should install a juice box. So far his department has only changed one injector in three years for everyone's information. Well, after driving the vehicle for a few days, there is a difference. I notice that the engine seems to be smoother and acceleration is faster. Whether this has something to do with cleaner fuel to the injectors or not, I cannot tell, but that seems logical. I am not a mechanic, and being over 62 I do not bend very well, so I elected to have the dealership do the install. Job was under $200.00. The dealer said that the Tech installed it in such a way that I could remove the assembly and put it on a new vehicle should I choose to so in the future. I purchased the kit from Greg at Lubrication Specialists. So far, I am pleased with the performance. I continue to add the Stanadyne Performance Plus. Should something happen with the injectors at this point, it is not from anything that I did to make this happen. Truck runs well and I hope that it outlives me.
