Both are good trucks. I would recomend a crew cab. The LB7 has some injector problems I think, but my dad had one and never had a problem with it. I have an LLY, they have overheating problems when towing. I've never had a problem with mine but I dont tow a lot. Either way you go, you will be happy with it.

I am seriously looking to getting into a chevy 2500 diesel 4x4 extended.
LB7, LLY..... 290hp, 310hp... which is the best (least problems)?

Would appreciate hearing from you experts.

Thanks!

Definitely the LLY,because I would love to sell you mine.:) I'ts a 2004.5 ext.--here on the board.I've had all 3 versions now--love my LBZ the best, only because it is--no question.Least problems?I would have to say it's a draw with my experience--only thing would be different is if you had one of those LLY chronic overheaters which I've never had.Power goes to the LLY.

I have an LLY and like it alot. I haven't had any overheating issues either. My fan has only come on once for about an hour but the temp gauge didn't get any higher than it does any other time. I was towing 9000lbs at 75mph and it was in the 90's. Hope you find the one best for you and welcome to DP.

If I could only choose between the LB7 and the LLY I would have to go LB7. At least if its an injector problem then you can just change the injectors and its fixed from what I understand the fix for a LLY that overheats involves a witchdoctor, taking off your left shoe and something about standing on your head while starting it.
