Hello everyone, I have to say perusing this website, its invaluable information, very impressed. Duramax owners sure know their stuff. I finally caved in and bought a used 2006 GMC Sierra Crew Cab SLE2 with the Duramax engine, it has 10 000km. I have been wanting a Diesel for 8 years now, my dream has come true! With our second child, it was a van or the truck, I WON!! hehehe.. Sure helps convincing using the fifth wheel angle (memories with the kids etc..). We plan on purchasing one in 1-2 years. Looking forward to be a member of the site! I will definitely have some questions. Picking up the truck this Friday! Can't wait. My father has the 2005 model, he will surely drool seeing the 6sp version of the Allison on the 2006!

Hey there! I'm from Oshawa Ont. I used to live in Pakenham (close to Ottawa) anyway you ll love the truck. Got mine 1 month ago used 14000km and i love it . It's also my first diesel. The ALLISON 6 SPEED is awesome. DO NOT USE BLOCK HEATER. Read other posts on here about the 06 lbz block heater. I'm leary on using mine. Make sure glow plug reflash done also before you get it!! Ask the dealer.

I will have to check that on the block heater . It will mainly be inside most of the times in a heated garage. They did say its going through a 150 point inspection (GM Optimum vehicle) and will be up to date on service bulletins when I pick it up.
