Just a shout out to anybody listening...My delaership called today and my '06 Steel Gray Metalic 2500 HD LBZ CC long bed shipped 02/10/2006:ro). I filled out the order paperwork 01/07/2006.

This stands to reason, we have had no snow and unseasoably warm weather here in southeastern Pennsylvania. Now that my truck is on its way the temperatures plummet and we get snow and more on the way. Which means road salt and cinders:(

I just had to tell somebody, becuase the wife wasn't as excited as she should have been at the announcement ;).

Now all I have to do is sell the old wheels, or maybe keep them and keep the new baby out of the salt and cinders until spring arrives...nahhhhh:D .

We just bought a Chevy 2500HD CC/SB LBZ Duramax in "Graystone Metallic" with a Dark Charcoal interior. Graystone Metallic is Chevy-speak for your GMC Steel Gray Metallic.

It is an AWESOME color, my friend. Just awesome.

We've owned ours for about a week and, though the truck is fairly dirty from our recent rains and driving, the dirt simply doesn't show. I've owned trucks in many colors and have never seen another that looks just washed, even when it's dirty.

Here is a photo of ours; maybe it will get your wifey excited.

Please let us know when your new gorgeous rig arrives. I just know you are going to love it.

Steve,

Are those the towing mirrors?

Mine is the same color too and after 5 white cars I really like the color. :)

Hey Mike,

Yup, those are the new towing mirrors and I freakin' love them. The visibility is FANTASTIC during regular driving and I can only believe that they will be great when we hook up our trailer in a couple of weeks and go down to the Coast (Pacific City, Oregon)'

They are heated and have the directional signal. The manual-fold and this is fine with me because there are no electric motors to burn out.

I've always lusted for the Ford camper mirrors, but I believe that GM has done them one better with these mirrors.

Here is a better photo.

Had I seen pictures I would have ordered them, I saw it on the sheet. In fact its one of the only things I didn't get. I was affraid they would look big and stupid but they go nice with the truck.

Good to have you in the brother (and sister)hood. When you get your rig, create a signature showing your truck options and modifications so users can help you easier. Also, post pics of your new rig in your "Garage".

Mike,

The Chevy catalogue has only one photo of the camper mirrors and it is a crappy one. Frankly, GM made a major advancement here and it is a shame that they seemingly are not promoting it.

Here in Portland, it is hard to buy a 2500HD off the lot without the camper mirrors. I guess Heavy Duty means hauling stuff and mirrors that will extend.

These are far and away the finest mirrors I've every used for general driving. And I can only imagine how great they will be when we hook up the 22-foot Arctic Fox and drive to the Coast. (Hint: FABULOUS)

Maybe you can buy a pair off of E-Bay and retrofit.

It's Here

My truck showed up at the dealer yesterday and I went to visit it after it came back from having the bed-liner sprayed. Now I have to wait for mud flaps to arrive and be installed. The truck is just as I had hoped. My only minor disppointment is in the choice if tires. The Bridgestone tires that it came with look little and the tread pattern looks a little whimpy for a 2500 HD. The Firestone Steel-Tex tread pattern on my old 2000 2500 is much more agressive looking. Oh Well I guess I will just have to burn them off and get a new set;) .
I will post pictures as soon as I get it home and get the cap installed.
