Picked up a 98 6.5 that's missing the ecm want to try to put the ecm from my 94 6.5 in it as the 94 frame has cracked. The plugs are different
94 blue pink pink
98 blue (blue actually fit no issue) brown brown
Figured the pins will need rearranged so if there's an adapter sweet if not I'm rearranging the pins because gambler 500. If anyone has a pin out for 98 id appreciate it. I found 94 already.

The 94' ECM is an OBDI system and is not compatible

Your 98' is an OBDII system

As far as I know, OBD-I and OBD-II are different standards.
Even if you can match the pin, I suspect that the internal data structure are different.

How do you buy a truck without ECM?
Did you even test drive it?
Or is it from the JY?

Let's just say it can be done, I have done it both ways.
It requires a lot of harness rewiring, not just re-pinning the PCM.
Much easier to get a 96-97 PCM that matches the 98's tranny.
Will also avoid the 98 & up security problem.
A custom programmed "have it your way" PCM is the best choice.
