Sorry guys but your lux/non-lux , TNR, has gotn this ole hippies head swimming... just need a couple of yes or no answers .... $Spent 40.00 at the stealer today and an no better off.... here is;
I have a 2007 classic with single cd "No" XM.... "NO" Onstar........... Part# 15850275
One of there techs attempted to do a "UNLOCK" install of a BOSE 6cd indash radio "with XM" ... "WITH" Onstar out of an 06 chevy that I bought from here .... was told it was a easy swap with a quick dealer relearn..... doesn't seem to be the case.... being told they need a VCI code ( I guess downloading some code or certain software) from the General ....
? 1 is it even doable?
? 2 should a quick tech2 relearn have work?
? 3 Anyone want to make an offer on the 06 Bose should this not work for me ?

OK 3 questions..... thanks and sorry if this is too redundint

1) yes

2) You cannot just "relearn" a VIN with a regular radio. They have to reprogram the radio. They should not need a VCI number. I just answered this same question last week...look here for the program list. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129680 Give that list to the Tech. The only oddball thing is if you dont have Bose the tech will have to select the correct audio program for the cabin size (#4) if you do not have a crew cab.

3) itll work. no need to sell it.

So what I am taking from all this... the " Bottom Line"
Seeing as I have a non bose single cd radio in my truck and I am going to be installing a bose 6cd indash changer BOSE radio I need # 15195741 loaded into the tech II
Sorry if I seem dense but am dealing with a very arogant service manager at my dealership

Happy ending ...... well after spending almost 2 hours at one dealership with no success I went to another not too far away.... and B-I-N-G-O using the information on here from DuratotheMAx and BAC we have a very working 6-CD in-dash Radio ..... when I called the first dealer they were kind enough to be honest and tell me why they failed.... They did not have the most current software downloaded into there puter.... DUH !!!! So I will be getting my money back from that debacle .... oh well no harm no foul just some wasted time for me .... So will not refer to them as a stealer-ship as they are making things right..... So case closed.... thanks to all here for there contributions ...
